Exceptional Salmon

Prime Fishing Season

The lower Kenai River offers excellent fishing opportunities throughout the year, but it truly shines during the peak fishing months of June, July, and August. During this time, the river is teeming with king salmon, sockeye salmon, and coho salmon, as well as trophy-sized rainbow trout and Dolly Varden.

Salmon Fishing

The Kenai River is famous for its world-record king salmon, and the lower river is one of the best places to catch these magnificent fish. The early run of king salmon starts in May and peaks in June, while the late run starts in July and peaks in August. Our guides will help you navigate the river and use the best techniques to hook into these powerful fish.

In addition to king salmon, the lower Kenai River is home to large runs of sockeye and coho salmon. Sockeye salmon fishing peaks in late June and early July, while coho salmon are most abundant in August and September. These salmon runs provide thrilling fishing action and the opportunity to catch some of the tastiest fish in Alaska.

Trout Fishing

The lower Kenai River is also a premier destination for trout fishing. The river is home to some of the largest rainbow trout in the world, with fish often exceeding 30 inches in length. Our guides specialize in fly fishing for these trophy trout, using a variety of techniques to match the hatch and entice these beautiful fish.
