Thinking about that once-in-a-lifetime Alaska salmon trip?
You’re in the right place. With glacier-fed rivers, massive salmon runs, and fish that fight like freight trains, Alaska delivers the kind of bucket-list fishing experience you’ll remember forever.

At Kenai Fly Fish, we guide anglers of all experience levels on custom, all-inclusive trips along two of Alaska’s most iconic rivers — the Kenai and Kasilof. Whether you’re a seasoned vet or casting in Alaska for the first time, this guide walks you through exactly how to plan the perfect 2025 salmon trip.

🐟 Why Alaska Is the Ultimate Salmon Destination

Alaska is home to all five Pacific salmon species, but in 2025, the real stars are:

🟥 Sockeye Salmon (Red Salmon)

Fast, strong, delicious — and coming in hot from mid-July through early August

🟦 Silver Salmon (Coho)

Aggressive surface strikes, explosive fights — peaking August 15 to early September

King Salmon

Closed for 2025 on the Kenai River — but no worries. Sockeye and silvers offer plenty of action and harvest opportunity.

✅ What Makes Alaska Fishing Unforgettable?
