Overview

Located at River Mile 1.5 near the mouth of the Kenai River, this is the lowest launch facility on the river. It experiences heavy use during the July personal use sockeye dipnet fishery.

Who It's For

Powerboat anglers targeting lower river kings and coho, dipnetters, and commercial operators.

What You'll Find

A massive paved boat launch facility with double ramps, extensive parking, floating docks, fish cleaning stations, and restrooms. Managed by the City of Kenai.

Location

Off Kenai Spur Highway in the City of Kenai, near the river mouth.

Best Times to Visit

July for sockeye dipnetting and late-run sockeye sport fishing. August and September for silver salmon runs.

Why Choose City of Kenai Dock

Unbeatable lower river and tidal access. Best place to launch if targeting sea-run salmon right as they enter the river.

Additional Information

Very strong tidal currents. The ramp is subject to significant tidal fluctuations. Launch fees apply.
